SLA Minicourse (2020)

While working for Indy Hall as Director of Operations, I was approached by Science Leadership Academy to teach a “minicourse”. Every year SLA invites professionals from a broad range of industries to teach a 10 class series on their organizations and careers.

I was thrilled to introduce these students to coworking. When I had first arrived at Indy Hall, I was introduced to a world of non-traditional career paths. I was on my own non-traditional journey but I had no positive representations to look to for guidance and inspiration. It was life-changing to find so many varied examples of how people craft and curate their professional lives. Throughout my time at Indy Hall, my constant goal was to pull that curtain back for as many people as possible, particularly Philadelphia youth.

Unfortunately, we were unable to work the program as the school district closed just a few days before the Indy Hall x SLA minicourse was set to begin.

The conception of this program was a culmination of years of work.
